We had a meeting with a rep from Polaris today. He, of course, made the product sound quite wonderful. We currently have plans to migrate to SirsiDynix's Rome, but our director wanted to meet with other companies before doing so.

One thing I really dislike about Unicorn, our current ILS, is the difficulty in customizing the OPAC. Even minor changes require skill with UNIX code, which I do not have. Polaris' OPAC allows editing in HTML! So practical, I'm really suprised Sirsi hasn't adopted this. I had enough trouble with Visual Basic classes and know UNIX would be an even bigger headache.

There were several other really strong points the rep brought up. Is anyone using this system? If so, what are your throughts?
