I left a comment on Bill Drew's post about community college's. While I was thinking about it, I thought I'd pass along this quote...

Even in countries like the united States and Japan in which large numbers of young people go on to university, Many more Stop their schooling by the time their are Sixteen or eighteen. There is no reason to believe that most of these people lack the intellectual endowment for knowledge work. All our experience proves the opposite. What distinguishes them from the young people who go on to the university is often lack of Money.--Peter Drucker, Post-Capitalist society, 1993
