Hi Emily,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,

Emily,

I declined your request to be a friend in error--too quick on the trigger finger. Please request again. I promise to accept.

Definitely a cute kidlet! I love the song you embedded. I love Bowling for Soup (1985 is my favorite). The only other
"Emily" song that I know is an old Simon and Garfunkel song called "To Emily, Wherever I May Find Her". I'm an "old" Emily before the name got popular!

Thanks! Shes not quite walking yet, but when she does I fear for my books and CD collection! BTW, I love the subtitle on you blog.

Hi Emily,
Thanks for your comments. I work for a county library system in California. The Virtual Library Team is growing, thankfully. So far, we have 7 people, all but 1 full-time. We are part of a larger group working on the Virtual Library Service Plan. In addition to adding content to and maintaining our Web site: English, Spanish, Kid's, Teens, and StaffNet, we all have different areas of responsibilities that are entwined with so many aspects of the library - e.g. the opac, the kid's catalog, adding a serials module, implementing the e-vanced calendaring software, library e-Card, the databases, eBooks, and interfacing with collection development, exploring new online services such as AquaBrowser, NextRead's email reader's advisory and MyLibraryDV's downloadable videos, wikis, RSS, virtual reference, MySpace, etc...

Thanks for inviting me! In our office we IM each other all the time...and we're all about 10 feet away from each other. I'm not sure why we have this expensive phone system...

hmmm.......Maybe the word shy will only apply to librarians who don't join in the social networking/2.0 movement.

Hi, Emily,

It's great to have a new friend. I am thinking that students have more ways to interact and share information. WIll the word shy disappear from the dictionary?

Best wishes,
