Hi Mary,
I'm a teacher librarian & recently started a community based blog for getting boys to read - http://GettingBoysToRead.com. Please send me a friend request if you'd like to network, share ideas, and learn more about getting boys to read.

Sincerely,
Mike McQueen

Hello Mary,

I just checked my mail today. The display looks nice. Nice picture.

Meredith you really should think about asking your editor to sign books. More librarians like me are reading your book. I bet you would sell more books too.

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I'm signing books or not. I don't think I am, but perhaps I should ask my editor. :) You can always track me down at the conference and I'd be glad to sign it.

I think that's a great suggestion, Julia - thank you for taking the time to be helpful!

Julia,

If you are ever in the Columbia area, I'm at the Central Library (we also have the East Columbia Branch). Stop by and mention my name. I'd be happy to show you around and take your picture out front.

You're welcome. I apologize for all the duplicate messages - my PC did not indicate that they had been accepted and I couldn't delete them.

I am just getting back after a vacation and attending the ALA conference. I stayed with family in Arlington and took the Orange line to the convention center everyday. Met lots of people. I thought the vendors was one of the best I've ever attended.

Hi Everyone on the Mid-Atlantic LIbrarians network. Anyone going to ALA and if so what workshops have you chosen?

I'm sorry I do not know him. Nevada is such a large state that I don't get to Las Vegas very often. We're even in a different climate zone--something I'm so thankful for this time of year because it's much hotter in Las Vegas than it is here in the north. Have a great day!

Hi Julia, Thanks for your note. The silly pineapple picture is at the "Big Pineapple" in Queensland, Australia. It was a fn trip! You asked about my work - I used to work in a college library and left to start a consulting business. I've been doing technology training and consulting for over 10 years now. Right now I'm teaching lots of classes on 2.o stuff and also web development classes. Plus lots of other web development projects. Lots of fun and sometimes way to busy. Glad you joined this network - sounds like you're having fun working with all this new stuff!

I am so impressed with all you have done to participate in social networking. It is really a major mind shift. I am a fan of "Who Moved My Cheese" and am interested in hearing a real-life impact it made. Retirement does take more than financial planning and few of us realize it until we are in it. I think SN's will make it easier for people to maintain connections after working for pay has ended.

No, I did not make it to CIL this year. I usually go, but I went to ACRL in Baltimore and I went to the state library conference around the same time, so I was kind of maxed out on conferences.
