Name of Your Library (if applicable):
Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Library
About Me:
I spent 19 excellent years at a central Illinois hospital library (solo librarian), but in 2019 accepted a position in an academic state Medical School; the dynamics were miles and yards different.
Being a medical school librarian has exposed me to a completely different environment of learning, along with colleagues I can actually discuss issues, subjects and ideas with, and a greater exposure to new library technology (currently AI). After my niche job in the hospital, I found I had quite a bit to learn from an academic library perspective and much to learn about library systems, consortia, libguides, technology, med students etc., that I had not experienced previously. This atmosphere continues to excite me!
