MathHappens Foundation has a new partnership with the Austin Public Libraries to provide a mathematics help desk with tutors, learning tools, supplies and resources. In the Southeast Branch we will be providing family programs, and parent programs as well as the tutor who is available to any patron of any age with a math question. At the Central Branch we will work with the adult program lecture series to integrate a mathematics talk into that program in addition to the tutor help desk. This is a new initiative for the foundation as our previous experiences have been in museum settings with the exception of some take home backpacks we created for the Buda Public Library. We'd like to share the goals and current form and format of the program, any feedback we have gathered this fall and engage in a discussion to find out more from the members about their interest in providing support for mathematics literacy in their communities.
