On April 1, 2008 I will be employed by Mason City Public LIbrary in Mason City, Iowa. MCPL will be undergoing and $9.5 million dollar renovation between now and 2010. The funding is in place and the architectural firm has been chosen. Now comes the task of implementing ideas, wants, needs, desires of Staff, Patrons and Board Members. I have studied a few renovations and new library construction projects.One of my big concerns or hopes is that we plan for the future needs of Staff, Patrons and Board Members so that MCPL will continue to be a "destination" 50 years from now. Any input would be welcome.
