All in the Timing?

Has anyone done a simple time study on the management of a Library Social Networking site? For instance, taking a timer and actually logging the minutes spent per week in construction, and then in upkeep of a MySpace site? It would be easier to convince some managers (and frankly, give them estimates for off-desk/on-desk staff time) if there were even some informal estimates that were constructed using valid and semi-impartial methods.
