About Me:

I am the Branch Manager of the St. Helena Branch Library of the Beaufort County Library System. I have two master's degrees -- one in Business Administration from Northcentral University and the other in Library Science from the University of South Florida. I have worked for more than 17 years as a licensed professional librarian. In addition to the various hats that are worn to operate the library, I am also responsible for the collections in both the Gullah Geechee and Reconstruction Rooms. The intent of these special collections is to provide conversations about the diverse roots of the Gullah people and to promote the healing that should have been afforded to all people following the Civil War. I was born in Greensboro, NC and I have traced my roots to Barbados and to the shores of Charleston, SC. I have lived in Beaufort, SC for most of my life and I am the proud step-mom and mother to three wonderful young ladies.
