    About Me:

    I am the first Library/Technology teacher appointed to this school and have been involved in the profession for nearly two decades pioneering the use of and applying the "future" tools. I have been serving as a tech (and info) advisor on two boards of PDK chapters and recently was elected to serve on the NYSCATE board (NYS ISTE affiliate). Additionally, I have served as a Director of Music and Organist in local congregations. My degrees include a Masters Degree in Music Education and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science. Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. in Educational technology and am taking coursework in the field of Interactive Educational Technology, concentrating on Distance Learning and Professional Deveopment. The primary areas of research interest include how to assist learners and patrons in the retrieval of appropriate and relevant data and to develop critical thinking skills. This will address using that information in the creation of their knowledge and fulfilling their individual needs. The School Media Center is a ideal location where students may begin their journey into the World of Information applying the same skills used with "traditional" resources located in the school library media center I have always sought to implement and integrate the tools before virtualization was a known concept.
