About Me:
Since 1993 I have worked as the School Librarian at St. Leo the Great School Library in San Jose, California. I am one of the first to computerize, barcode, and process all the books in the library in the Diocese of San Jose. I am using the LibraryWorld.com program since 1994. It started out just as a school network and now it is a website base so all the children, families, and staff have access to it from home. I have a library schedule so I can have all grades Pre-K, Kinders, 1st to 8th grades class come in on a weekly basis to check out books, read out loud to lower grades and have upper grade students do research or studies. For this October I received a Community Member of the Month Award from the School. I am a member of the Santa Clara County Reading Council. I am also setting up a library in Ghana, Africa for the Awaso Academy International Library. I will be going again this summer of 2012 to purchase a couple of thousand African library books in the capital of Accru. I have already sent about 6,000 American library books last summer 2010. We are in need of black African culture books as I found that a lot of the American & Canadian library books that are at the Academy are politically incorrect and/or culturally unfit for thr children.
