    Blog or Personal/Professional Website:

https://I've ben working as a PTA-funded Librarian (with MLIS) for 12 years. I just started learning about Web 2.0, and want to figure out how to incorporate it in the elementary setting, without having IT take over the library. I firmly believe that the early years are for exploring the world in a concrete way: learning to handle actual objects, like blocks, and books, and scissors. I want the students I work with to understand how to use and value printed materials. I know I'm a bit of an antique. I am pretty enthralled with the 2.0 stuff, though, I must say. I'm also keenly aware of how much time it is taking up, and this rankles. it is my summer, after all. And so I approach this Web 2.0 stuff with a bit of ambivalence; is this the right time for elementary students to be learning this? What, of all of it, if any of it, would be most beneficial?
