Name of Your Library (if applicable):
Copper Valley Community Library
About Me:
I have been a board member of CVCLA since 1997. When we lost our librarian in 2004 I stepped up to the plate and with the help of one other individual we were able to keep the library open by becoming a volunteer ran library. At the time I was the librarian (paraprofessional) at Glennallen Jr/Sr High School. My husband was a teacher for the Copper River School District and we had two children still living at home. Even though my life became extremely full I was able to juggle all the responsibilities of a family, work and volunteering with the help of my family. Being a Latch Key kid I grew up in libraries, they were my sanctuary (safe place to go) and the librarians became my friends. Even though my education was in Police Science I always knew my desire was to spend as much time in libraries as possible.
