About Me:
Stephanie Gerding, MLIS, is a library consultant with 20 years of professional experience working with all types of libraries. She is a guest faculty member for University of Washington's Information school, teaching library grant courses. Recent projects include sole creation of the Public Library Association's Dynamic Planning Institute, instructor for Infopeople's online courses including Building a Culture of Learning, Getting Started with Community Needs Assessments, Library Grants 101 (annually), trainer for PLA's Project Outcome, project manager of the Continuing Education Connector project led by the Chief Officers of State Libraries (COSLA), needs assessments and evaluation of several state and national organization’s training and leadership programs. Stephanie is the author of four books including the ALA Editions best seller, Winning Grants, Second Edition: A How-To-Do-It Manual For Librarians, and The Accidental Library Technology Trainer. She has success in all areas of grant work as a writer, reviewer, funder, evaluator, and project manager. She’s been a lead grant reviewer for nonprofit grants, and for LSTA, state grants, and scholarships at two state libraries. She’s the Executive Director of Act of Giving, a small nonprofit giving circle. She lives in beautiful Seattle, WA with her husband and their spunky twelve-year-old daughter.
