Post-Pandemic Library Buildings: how will they be different?

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Since March 2020, librarians have been working tirelessly to find ways to bring services to their users. Digital platforms, sure, but what about library buildings? Plexiglas barriers, curbside services, HEPA filtration units – which of these innovations will remain, and for how long?

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners’ Library Building Specialists, in collaboration with Sasaki, have developed a set of best practices for library space design, including a section with tips for the pandemic and beyond. We’ll talk about what we think will last into the post-pandemic era and how to make your spaces flexible, anticipating new services and needs.
