How can libraries help young adults with autism as they transition to adulthood? This presentation will address specific barriers for young adults on the autism spectrum and suggestions for how libraries can better address them.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

There is a large gap between services provided to a child with autism and an adult with autism. This term, called The Cliff, is something that parents and individuals face after the 21st birthday when supports fall off. This presentation, given by the author of the ABC-CLIO RUSA-award winning title, Serving Teens and Adults on the Autism Spectrum: a Guide for Libraries, will address specific barriers for young adults on the autism spectrum as they transition to adulthood, and suggestions for how libraries can address them.
