Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

The COVID 19 pandemic brought many new service and programming challenges to public libraries including how to maintain important relationships with students and schools. Calgary Public Library quickly recognized this challenge and saw the opportunity to reimagine our relationship with educators and establish a systems approach to how we support students and learning.  As schools alternated between in-school, blended and at-home learning during the pandemic, the Library found new ways to learn more about the needs of educators and school administrators. To accomplish this, the School Support Librarian position was created to connect directly with teachers and students and to find unique new ways to bring the library into the classroom. Discover how we innovated in response to educators' needs, piloted new ways to engage with classrooms in barrier-free digital format and increased our school audience reach to over thirty thousand students during the last two years!
