Martin- thanks for letting me know you started this group to discuss fantasy literature.My favorite fantasy books recently have been:Un Lun Dun by China MievilleThe Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan (#1 is The Lightning Thief)Dragon's Keep by Janet Lee CareyI read mostly young adult literature because I am a teen librarian, but last year I LOVED reading all the Dresden File books by Jim Butcher. All of these except Dragon's Keep are modern fantasy, not traditional sword & sorcery books but I like both kinds.
