    About Me:

Federico Salas-Isnardi is Director of the Mayor’s Office for Adult Literacy in Houston, Texas, a unique initiative of the Houston mayor with oversight by the Houston Public Library, where he leads innovative collaborations to address issues at the intersection of adult education and equity. In 2021 he oversaw the team that developed Houston’s Adult Literacy Blueprint, a strategic plan to rebrand and redesign Adult Literacy for the next 15 years with a focus on systemic inequities that perpetuate low literacy across generations. A linguist by training, Federico is an adult ESL and literacy educator, diversity, social justice and equity trainer, and professional developer with 35 years of experience.
