About Me:
Greetings! My name is Jeremiah King. I was born in Baltimore, MD, but grew up here East Tennessee. I was home schooled for my last three years of high school. After graduating in 1994, I spent the summer before college in Papua New Guinea. I have also traveled to Australia, Greece, Italy, and Jamaica, and have helped build a clinic in Bolivia. I received a Bachelor’s degree from UT Knoxville in Classics with a concentration in Latin. I also spent many hours studying Ballet, Jazz, modern dance, and West African Dance, at both UTK and the preprofessional American Dance Festival at Duke University. I have taught Ballroom and Latin dance professionally for over 20 years, and have taught Latin (the language) for 10 years. I now teach mostly homeschooled students, but more recently have also been teaching asynchronously to public and private school students from around the world. In addition to teaching, I manage a farm and am an artisan/builder. My wife, Brandy, and I also homeschool our two children.I am currently working on a Master’s in Information Sciences degree, and plan to work as a teaching librarian either in a public school or in a college/university setting.
