    About Me:

I am public librarian with an extensive career as an information professional.  I am currently the community services at the Largo Public Library in Largo, Florida, Pinellas County, the most urban county in the state of Florida. Largo is the 4th largest city in the Tampa Bay Region. I have worked in diverse settings that include colleges and universities, public libraries, secondary schools, and the federal government.  I am responsible for the selection, training, and supervision of the 40+ volunteer English language learning tutors. I match tutors to adult ELL students. Additionally, I manage the Career Online High School program, promoting and administering the program, communicating with and screening students for admission, approving and awarding all scholarships. I am the Largo Library's leader of the annual Welcoming Week event, working with fellow library colleagues organizing the annual month-long basket drive and launch event for the Largo Library as well partnering with other Pinellas County libraries and the Tampa Bay Refugee Services Task Force. I also oversee the collection development of the adult Spanish collection and the English Language Learning collection. I am in charge of the library's community services resources - initiating processes and executing an outreach plan, making connections with local social service organizations and ensuring that ALL library patrons feel welcome and seen. Finally, I coordinate the twice weekly naturalization and citizenship classes in collaboration with local nonprofit organization. I live in South Tampa with my husband and teenager. I am graduate of Loyola University Chicago and the University of Michigan. I grew up in Cincinnati, but I have lived in such places as Wilmington, DE, Guam, Hawaii, Washington DC, and Yokohama, Japan.
