    About Me:

    A graduate of Tbilisi State University, where she studied Philology and Cultural Resource Management, Maia Simonishvili worked for almost ten years as a newspaper and radio journalist, both in her native Georgia and in Germany (where she was a fellow at the Foundation of Lower Saxony and an intern at the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung,2002). Projects in collaboration with the Goethe Institute Tbilisi. Worked as an intern at the Yale University Library, a fellowship from CEC ArtsLink for artists and Cultural managers(2008). Since 201,0 has studied at the Ilia State University, Identity Studies (Ph.D.). In 2012, I studied at The New School as a Carnegie Research Fellow. Since 2006, I have worked as a leading specialist in the Public Relations and Cultural Programs Division at the NPLG. Since 2012, has served as a curator of the Anglo-American Reading Hall at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, promoting various digital resources for readers. Among her projects: collaboration with different foreign libraries for developing emigrants' archives and new initiatives, developing and curating foreign book collections, organising cultural events, and working with media. Since 2021 Member of the IFLA European Regional Division and the NAPLE. She collaborates with the National Foundation of Georgian Literature to publish Georgian translations in foreign countries. Active supporter and participant of digital librarianship and learning, digital universities, and social networks. Member of the ICOMOS Georgia and the Internet Governance Forum. Elected Member of the IFLA European Regional Division and Faife. Working on the project to implement AI knowledge in Libraries. Occasionally, dedicates her free time to supporting women's rights, children's rights, and media literacy. Favourite hobbies: Art, Music, friends, travel, innovations, and different cultures
