I have finished my lesson plans for my Red Cross Reading Group for Read Across America Week! Each child has a goal of 15 books in one week! They are the ones who suggested it, so proud of my kiddos! If they all reach the goal of 15 books in 7 days, we are going to see Lorax in IMAX! I feel so honored to get to work with such amazing kids who work really hard to become great readers. Hi Madelyn,
I am in my second quarter at Drexel and I really like it. I was thinking about a concentration in archives, but I am now debating it. Currently, I am taking a class on Information Access and Resources that is required. It deals with databases and I find that I am really enjoying it so I may want to focus more on digital librarianship. At Drexel you have the option of taking a concentration if you would like to. There is also a way to get a dual masters in library science as well as information systems if you like the more technical side of things. Drexel has a great jobs posting site on the iSchool's website that is updated with internships and jobs frequently. There are also many opportunities to work at U of Penn because they are so close. Many library students I know work in one of Penn's libraries. I hope your decision making process is going smoothly! Good luck!
