Become a Fonera! - A Cool Librarian Blog Post

After reading Erica's wireless post and the resulting comment drama, I was reminded of something I've been meaning to mention here.

As you might imagine, I am a big fan of collaboration. I'm also a big fan

of easy-to-locate wireless access - not so much because I travel around

with my laptop frequently (I don't, my laptop sucks and I… Continue

Wireless? Really!? - NOT from the Cool Librarian Blog

My library finally has wireless internet access for the public. That's a very good thing, especially for a library the size of ours, and the fact that we are on the main drag on the way to a fairly major New England vacation town. Everyday someone asks if we have wireless - and now I can say, "Yes! Yes we do!"

Ahhh, you detect a "but" on the way, don't you?

BUT - NO ONE TOLD ME!! Uh huh, that's right, no one thought it might be a good idea to tell one of the…

It's a Done Deal - A Post from the Cool Librarian Blog

Well, today I submitted my resume for the Director's position at my library. What have I done?

surrounding this position (and the fact that I have applied), but the

bottom line is that, from all accounts, I am as qualified as the next

person for this position. But, you know, that does not mean that I will

get the job, certainly.

Because I would actually like a decent shot at the job,… Continue

Let's Go Surfing Now - A Post from the Cool Librarian Blog

I think I am finally feeling a bit more settled in my new digs, so now it's time for me to get to work.

First up is SurfRI. Apparently, RI is one of only two states (and DC)…

it scares me how everywhere we are... my next venture is the LotW meebo room, but i'm scared that once i go in i may never come out... (and thus never get anything productive done ever again!)

Hi Jessca-

I just took a peek at your cool librarian blog and it is, well, cool! Your blog also has some nice features which I'll have to try, like the zoom clouds and how you've done your blogroll. And, now I have a bunch more sites, social software apps, and search engines to try. *sigh* guess I'll just have to spend more time online.
