Volunteers

SPECIAL NOTE:  If you are an experienced user of Blackboard Collaborate and you haven't signed up for a time to help moderate, and you are wanting to help, please use the signup link at http://library2011volunteers.youcanbook.me. If the conference has already started, you can just come directly into the coordinating lounge and offer to help! Here's the lounge link: https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?password=M.83C9664B57B481AA5A7297988A6C8E&sid=2008350. Thank you!

Volunteers play a critical role in the conference, and we thank you for considering participation as a volunteer!  To be kept informed of volunteer opportunities and information, please join the Library 2.0 network, and then join the conference volunteers group: http://www.library20.com/group/library2011conferencemoderatorvolunteers.

Volunteers help to advertise/promote the conference as broadly as possible, as well as being supportive on the site in connecting with others, responding to postings, and encouraging presenting. Additionally, we do have a crucial task for some of the volunteers during the conference:  helping moderate session in Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate). While all presenters will be required to take some basic training in Collaborate, sessions are much more likely to go well if there is a second person in the session to provide support, to watch the chat for questions, and to help make sure things to smoothly.

To select presentation time slots to volunteer as a moderator, please use the signup form at http://library2011volunteers.youcanbook.me. We know that your ability to volunteer depends on working around other commitments you may have, so just know that we greatly appreciate whatever help you can give.  Some of you may only have time to help in one session, and that still makes you a hero to us!  If you have more time or availability, we'll work really hard to convey suitable levels of appreciation!

The training schedule for volunteers can be seen by clicking on the "Training" page for the conference. To see the times you volunteered to help, you can go to "SESSIONS AND SCHEDULE" to find your specific timezone schedule page, and on that page move down and you'll find the volunteer calendar listing.

We are also looking for a small cadre of "super-volunteers" to help manage and oversee ALL the sessions and volunteers during different global shifts. If you are willing to be part of this elite team, email me directly at steve@hargadon.com!

A big THANK YOU to all who are able to help!
