Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

This presentation will showcase our journey with AI and provide an overview of how we have incorporated AI tools to enhance 21st-century research skills. We will also give recommendations on how to integrate AI tools into existing curriculums and the research process, emphasizing the importance of elevating current information literacy approaches to leverage emerging AI technologies. In alignment with ALA’s updated Core Values of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy and Public Good, we at  Georgetown University in Qatar Library try to emphasize tools that are free to use and less intrusive to privacy. Specifically, we will highlight tools such as Research Rabbit, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc. It is crucial for both faculty and students to understand the benefits and drawbacks of AI tools and use them ethically and efficiently.  With the proper guidance and training, A.I. tools can be a powerful assistant in various stages of the research cycle. Moreover, librarians have a critical role in fostering research skills development with AI literacy and can contribute significantly to this evolving field. They can lead the way as digital and information literacy experts.
