Your Name and Title: Reed Hepler, Digital Initiatives Librarian and Archivist (rhepler@csi.edu)

Library, School, or Organization Name: College of Southern Idaho

Co-Presenter Name(s): n/a

Area of the World from Which You Will Present: United States, Idaho

Language in Which You Will Present: English

Target Audience(s): Archivists, Library Administrators, Academic Librarians

Short Session Description (one line): A discussion and think-tank opportunity to share workflows and other utilizations of AI tools in Special Collections and Archives.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Libraries and archives have long been intertwined together. Many archives are, in fact, seen as subdivisions of the libraries in which they reside. This paradigm has persisted for decades, if not centuries. The problems with this imposed subordinate nature are not the topic of this discussion. Rather, the purpose of this session is to discuss how Artificial Intelligence, specifically Generative Artificial Intelligence, can impact these "special libraries." Potential topics of discussion include:

*Text generators and EAD Record Creation

*Image generators and Archival Image Retouching

*Text generators and Scope, Content, and Biographical/History Note Creation

*AI, archival subject headings, and Linked Data possible connections

*Text generator-enhanced finding aid navigation

*Text generator-enhanced collections database navigation

*AI and digital collections and exhibits hosting

*Other relevant topics
